Another thing that really sets us apart is that I’m not the only board-certified orthodontist at our practice, there are actually two of us. We’re such a dynamic duo, we’re married…to each other! That’s right, Dr. Carolyn Cronin and I aren’t just partners in creating healthy smiles, we’re also partners in life. Get to know more about the doctors behind our Westminster orthodontic practice.
Their Love Story
Dr. Cronin and I met at the University of Illinois where we both attended college. I wooed Dr. Cronin by naming a star after her and appealing to her creative side with thoughtful hand-made gifts. It wasn’t long before we began officially dating.
We continued to date all through dental school. During our fourth year, we even did a month-long volunteer trip together in Guatemala, where we provided dental care to school children in need.
In 2014, I proposed to Dr. Cronin at the Art Institute of Chicago. We call the day of our engagement “Double Match Day,” because not only did Dr. Cronin say yes, confirming we were the perfect match for each other, it was also the day we each matched with our top orthodontic residency choices.
After completing our residencies, we moved to the Denver area as husband and wife and fulfilled our dream of opening up our own orthodontic practice. Since then, we’ve been working hard as Denver orthodontists to deliver the highest standard of care in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
In 2020, we began a new venture: becoming parents! Dr. Cronin gave birth to our daughter, Renny. Now, when we aren’t perfecting smiles with braces and Invisalign® in Westminster, our family of three can usually be found enjoying the great outdoors and exploring the beautiful state of Colorado.
The Path to Becoming Denver Orthodontists
After graduating from college and spending time traveling the country (Dr. Cronin joined the Jonas Brothers on tour as a marketing brand ambassador and I collected bumblebees to research the declining species of our world pollinators), we spent four years in dental school at the University of Illinois-Chicago. We earned our doctorate degrees and graduated at the top of our classes.
Following dental school, Dr. Cronin completed her specialty training at the prestigious orthodontic residency program at the University of North Carolina. I attended the orthodontic residency program at University of Minnesota. It was during our residencies that we became experts in diagnosing, preventing and treating irregularities of the teeth and jaws. In addition to earning our certificates in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, we also earned Master of Science degrees.
Being the go-getters we are, after our residencies, Dr. Cronin and I took the additional voluntary step of becoming board certified. We engaged in hundreds of extra hours of preparation and education and passed written and clinical examinations, demonstrating we’re able to provide the highest quality patient care.
Dr. Cronin and I regularly complete continuing education. Recently, I was one of a select group of orthodontists to take part in the The Aligner© Intensive Fellowship. The rigorous course, open to top Invisalign providers, helped me expand my clear aligner expertise to treat even the most complex cases using Invisalign.
We’re also faculty members at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s, where we serve on the Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Team.
Two Expert Orthodontists in One Practice
Dr. Cronin and I love working together and that goes a long way in helping to create the positive, family-friendly atmosphere we’re known for. We’ve spent over a decade striving to be the best at what we do and we combine our training and extensive knowledge, giving patients double the expertise.
We bounce ideas off each other and collaborate on patient cases to achieve the best possible results every single time. Because Dr. Cronin and I are science buffs and stay up-to-date on the latest research, we leverage state-of-the-art orthodontic technology and techniques for better outcomes and patient experience.
Our dedication to our field, patients and community hasn’t gone unnoticed. As Denver orthodontists, we have received numerous awards. Most recently, in 2021, we were named a Top 3 Orthodontist by Colorado Parent and our practice received the Westminster Small Business of the Year award from the Westminster Chamber of Commerce.
