Procedure

When you visit our Westminster orthodontic office for your Invisalign consultation, a team member will take digital x-rays and photos. Then, Dr. Cronin or Dr. Czarnik will examine your smile and chat with you about your concerns, goals for treatment and lifestyle. This will allow them to develop an accurate diagnosis and determine if Invisalign treatment is right for you. If it is, we’ll go over the Invisalign cost, your insurance, our flexible financing options and what you can expect during treatment.

A team member will take quick, comfortable digital impressions using our iTero® scanner. No gagging on messy impression materials! The scans will be converted into a computerized, 3D model of your mouth. Dr. Cronin or Dr. Czarnik will map out a precise treatment plan directly on this model, including the exact movements of your teeth. They’ll also determine how long your Invisalign treatment will last. Then, they’ll show you how your teeth will move and a preview of your new smile using the Invisalign Outcome Simulator.

We’ll send the orthodontist’s specifications to the Invisalign lab and they’ll translate the tooth movements into a series of custom, clear aligners using 3D printing technology. Your aligners will be made from proprietary SmartTrack® material, ensuring your new smile looks exactly as planned. When your Invisalign aligners are ready, you’ll pick them up and start wearing them for 20 to 22 hours per day, only taking them out to eat, drink, brush and floss.

You’ll swap out your current Invisalign aligners for a new set every one to two weeks, depending on your treatment plan and needs. Your teeth will gradually shift into place with each tray. While adjustments aren’t necessary with Invisalign, you’ll still swing by our office every six to eight weeks for a check-up so we can monitor your progress.

When you take out your last set of Invisalign aligners, you’ll have a beautiful, healthy smile to show for it! In order to help you maintain your results for life, we’ll create a retainer, or retainers, for you to wear to hold your teeth in their newly aligned positions. Ask us about Vivera® retainers. These clear retainers, from the makers of Invisalign, are custom-made using the same state-of-the-art technology as the aligners.
